We are a Christ-focused, Bible-centric ministry with the prime mission of providing attainable, clear
lessons
from Scripture to equip the saints and reach the lost to the glory of God.
This ministry is for unmarried, divorced, and widowed people in their 30s through 50s.
Vision components are derived from this mission and for this group of people.
Personal Faith & Discipleship
It is essential that God’s people are maturing in their faith1,2. Recognizing that each one
of us
is at a
different stage of faith and maturity3, a graceful and Christlike attitude amongst the
attendance
is of prime importance.2
With this attitude, discipleship and growth have fertile ground to flourish and produce real, saving
personal
faith
and life-long disciples of Christ.
1“Therefore leaving the elementary teaching about the Christ,
let us press on to maturity…”
Hebrews 6:1
2“As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and
carried
about by every wind of doctrine,
by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming; but
speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects
into Him who is the head, even Christ, from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by
what
every joint supplies
according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building
up of
itself in love.”
Ephesians 4:14-16
3“Therefore, putting aside all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander,
like newborn babies, long
for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow in respect to salvation, if you have
tasted
the kindness of the Lord.”
1 Peter 2:1-3
Reaching the lost is an essential goal of this ministry. It is expected that all maturing believers will
recognize this is a calling
for all the saints4 and will pursue this objective5,6.
4“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of
the
Father and the Son and the
Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always,
even to
the end of the age.”
Matthew 28:19-20
5“For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.
Therefore do not be ashamed
of the testimony of our Lord or of me His prisoner, but
join with me in suffering for the gospel according to the power of God,
who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to
His own
purpose and grace which
was granted us in Christ Jesus from all eternity, but now has been revealed by the appearing of our
Savior
Christ Jesus,
who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel, for which I was
appointed a
preacher
and an apostle and a teacher."
2 Timothy 1:7-11
6“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own
possession, so that you may
proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; for
you once
were not a people,
but now you are the people of God; you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.”
1 Peter 2:9-10
It is the position of this ministry that the fellowship of the saints is both necessary and at its best
when
we are in the
Word of God together.7,8,9 The fellowship is shaped and sustained by God and fully engaged
when the
saints are
seeking Him continually10 in His Word and through prayer.9,11
This is God’s ministry.
7“For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst.”
Matthew 18:20
8“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is
faithful;
and let us
consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together,
as is
the habit
of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.”
Hebrews 10:23-25
9“Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing
one
another with psalms
and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God. Whatever you do in word
or
deed, do all in the
name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.”
Colossians 3:15-17
10“Seek the Lord and His strength; Seek His face continually.”
Psalm 105:4
11“Be anxious for nothing,
but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made
known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and
your
minds in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:6-7
Interaction Among Attendees
Respect for those in attendance, participants, and teachers is a must.12,13,14 Due to the
nature of
this ministry, for the
unmarried, divorced, and widowed people, a Matthew 1815 policy will be employed with anyone
reasonably deemed to create an
uncomfortable environment for those in attendance or promote discord with the objectives of this
ministry.
It is an utmost
priority to have an environment for everyone to feel safe and welcomed.
12“Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in
honor;”
Romans 12:10
13“Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit,
but with humility of mind regard one another as more important
than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of
others.”
Philippians 2:3-4
14 “But we request of you, brethren,
that you appreciate those who diligently labor among you, and have charge over
you in the Lord and give you instruction, and that you esteem them very highly in love because of
their
work. Live in peace with
one another.”
1 Thessalonians 5:12-13
15“If your brother sins, go and show him his fault in private; if he listens to you,
you
have won your brother.
But if he does not listen to you,
take one or two more with you, so that by the mouth of two or three witnesses every fact
may be confirmed. If he refuses to listen to them,
tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church,
let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector.”
Matthew 18:15-17
